Week: 36! Only 1 more week until full term. :D
Due date: November 28.
Symptoms: Feeling pretty crampy lately, I think the baby has dropped. And (tmi warning) I think I have been losing my mucus plug.
Feeling: Very excited but also moody and emotional. Very anxious to finish getting ready. With my symptoms lately, I feel like we should install the car seat and pack the labor bag today, just in case. We're going to Delaware this Saturday to get some gifts and hand-me-downs from my awesome in laws (although I may not go because it's a 2 hour drive). Then on Sunday we're going to this great store near us, Soft and Cozy Baby, to do a cloth diaper workshop and a babywearing workshop (both free, yay). I'm planning on buying cloth diapers and a baby sling/wrap/carrier there that day too. So after this weekend we will be all set and ready for baby to come!!
Sleep: I can't get comfortable AT ALL anymore. Restless leg syndrome and carpal tunnel are both driving me crazy at night.
Health: Good, I think. I have a birth center appointment tomorrow so hopefully they say I'm doing fine still. :)
Exercise: Oh heck no, I can barely do a load of laundry!
Stretchmarks: I noticed the other day that I'm starting to get some. :( Darn, I almost got through two pregnancies without them!
Skin: My eczema is doing better. I notice that if I skip a day of using the hydrocortisone cream or wearing my hazelwood and amber necklace, if flares up again. Looks like I found a good mix to keep it under control, but I hope to be able to stop using the cream soon because it's a steroid and I'd rather not use it while pregnant or breastfeeding...
Baby's size: About 6 pounds and 18 1/2 inches!
Movement: LOTS of movement, as usual. I can tell she's head down because she kicks me right in the ribs! So that's good, although sometimes painful!
Name: Brynna Rose. <3
BabyCenter update: Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement. At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.
I forgot to take a belly pic this week. Bad me! Go here for previous belly pics.
