Thankful Thursday

Kaylee has been having issues at school and today she finally crossed a line and bit a classmate. :( When I got the call, I thought they would say she couldn't attend anymore. But they said we were going to try some new ways of helping her adjust. So although I feel upset, guilty, worried, etc. about the whole situation, I am hugely thankful that they are not giving up on her yet. I know she loves school and learns so much there. I really don't want to have to withdraw her. I'm going in to talk to her teachers tomorrow and brainstorm some things we can do. We're also taking her to a child psychologist next week. So hopefully things will improve soon! Kaylee has such a beautiful soul, I just can't stand to see her labeled a problem child. I don't want that for her; I had that label growing up and it's no fun. I'm just so so grateful that her teachers see how special she is too, and want to work with us as much as possible to overcome her behavioral problems without breaking her spirit.

Link up your thankful posts! :) For more Thursday link-ups, check out my blog hop library.

My middle son struggled with some issues at first. He has come out the other side now. Sometimes they just don't know how to express how they feel and get cross and frustrated I guess. Sounds like you are doing all the right things and have some good people who are on her side too! Xxx

honestly, i think it's normal for kids to go thru a biting phase?? some hit, some pinch, some kick or spit....it's their way of communicating frustration or anger. my son was bit a few times and they never asked the other kid to leave....teachers want to help them. hope the situation gets better :)

Oh Sweetie. It's tough being a parent:). I do believe every one of my kids went through a biting faze and you are right, its because they are so frustrated. If the teachers are worth their salt, they will work with you and her and help her.
Sending prayers (remember it's always more upsetting for a Mom than anyone else:). The older I get, the more patient and less judgmental I become about these issues:)

She is not a problem child, everyone deals with situations differently and by the time you have all the answers for this situation, they will be into a new faze:) LOL I hope I haven't rambled all over, just trying to let you know you have my support and things will work out;) Sending hugs!!

Kids do go through these phases and I'm pretty sure every child deals with situations differently. I'm sure it'll all work out :)
