Flashback Friday

Kaylee is lighter in skin and hair color, and Brynna is a little chubbier, but other than that they are like the same baby!! It's so trippy seeing Brynn in outfits Kay wore. It's like going back in time!

Thankful Thursday

Sorry this is up late, I was at Kaylee's end of the school year picnic. :)

Hmm, what am I thankful for today. Well I'm thankful for how much fun we just had at the park with all of Kaylee's wonderful teachers and friends. And I'm thankful Kaylee has come so far since the beginning of the year, when she was withdrawn and grouchy at school. Now she is outgoing and confident. I'm so proud of her!!

What are you all thankful for today?

Please link up your thankful posts. :) Taking a button is optional. For more Thursday link-ups, check out my blog hop library!

Tinky! (My First Review!!!)

The other day, I got an email from Penny at Author Marketing Experts, Inc. asking if I wanted to review a few books by Susan Spira. I've never done a review before, but I said I'd give it a go. So here it is, my first review. :)

We got the 3 books in the mail a few days later and I read them to Kaylee that night at bed time. They were silly and fun-to-read stories about a little doggie named Tinky. Kay loved them and has been acting them out ever since. She's so cute with her play-acting, too bad she catches me when I try to record her and gets mad at me!

Each book takes about 10-15 minutes to read. I'd recommend them for approximately ages 3-6. They have whimsical illustrations which Kaylee found entertaining. The only complaint I could think of would be that the wording was a little confusing for Kay's 4 year old brain at a couple places.

Disclaimer: This is my honest review of a product I received for free with no other compensation. :)

Weekly Weigh-in #22

Week: 22.
Weight loss this week: 1 pound gain, again! Grr.
Total weight loss: 37.
Current weight: 203.
Weight goal: 160. (Or whenever I feel like I'm at a healthy weight.)
Eating habits this week: I actually thought I did better this week. I didn't overeat or binge on sweets at all. I know I gained a pound, but I'm still proud of myself for eating better lately.
Exercise habits this week: I was so busy with Kaylee's dentist appointment, then my dentist appointment, then us all having colds, that I didn't exercise at all. That is probably why I gained the pound. Oh well, there's always next week to do better!

I just wanted to say, I've been doing this fitness challenge for the past 18 weeks, with Lanaya from Raising Reagan. She and the other ladies in the challenge have been a huge motivation for me. I never realized how important support was in weight loss. But I think it's no coincidence that I've lost nearly 40 pounds in the past 5 months! I just want to say thanks so much to Lanaya and everyone in the Slim by Summer group!!! Let's keep up the good work everyone, even though the challenge is over. I plan on continuing to post this weekly update and blog hop, just to hold myself accountable. :)

Saturday's Top 5 Laughs

"Daddy, I love diamonds, they're my favorite." -Kaylee

"Finders, keepers, losers, weepers! The finders have to keep what they found and the losers have to weep! That means cry." -Kaylee

*Sees a picture of Steven and me* "Why would you take a picture with Mommy and Daddy and no Kaylee?!" -Kaylee

Steven: "Kaylee, what are you thankful for?"
Kay: "I'm thankful for... you!"

Me: "What's wrong, why are you crying?"
Kay: "I'm distressed!"

More of Kaylee's quotes here. :)

Flashback Friday

Me, my best friend, and our little siblings, playing Native Americans. Approximately 13 years ago, when I was around 12. (I'm at the far right.) After we went to Native American summer camp and found out that we had a tiny bit of Cherokee blood, this became our favorite game. We played it all the time for quite a few years!
