My dog, Molly, is now 16 years old. Her health has been slowly declining, and we are not sure how much longer she has left. We've been spoiling her and got her a new dog bed, and have been giving her quite a few extra treats. We decided to give her extra pain medicine the other day, so we could take her on a walk at Carousel Park, which is a place near us with a beautiful off-leash area for dogs with a lake and field. She had such a nice time, sniffing other dogs and wading around in the lake. It's been a while since she went anywhere but a short walk in the neighborhood, because her arthritis is so severe and walking is painful for her. (She is at the maximum dose of pain meds, and already they make her throw up, so unfortunately we can't increase it on a regular basis.) After that, we drove 2 hours to visit a family friend, Laura. She and her family are very close to Molly and they loved seeing eachother. Molly was exhausted and sore at the end of the day, but I think it was worth it. :) It was so nice to see her have a really good day.
