Skyler Update

4 Months

Sky is doing great! She is a super happy baby.

She is getting so big! She's is mostly 6-9 month clothes now.

She is so smiley and giggly.

She's definitely teething. She doesn't really cry too much, but she does yell angrily a lot, lol. And she drools like a St. Bernard!

She is really starting to like toys. She's getting pretty good at grabbing and holding things.

She's also starting to be interested when you read her a book, and she loves to look at the pictures.

She can roll tummy to back pretty easily now.

I haven't seen her roll back to tummy, but a lot of the time I will put her in her crib on her back, and when I come back she's on her tummy.

She loves tummy time and is even starting to inchworm crawl. Sometimes she ends up going backwards though, lol.

She was sleeping from like 9 to 8 for a while there, waking once for a dream-feed. Now lately, she is sleeping well, but only from midnight to 6 in the morning.

She usually has 3 naps a day. I've been trying to get her to drop her evening nap so she might sleep better at night, but she isn't really cooperating, lol. The thing about a third child is that they will fall asleep anywhere, and sleep through any amount of noise!

She's exclusively breastfeeding, and still refuses bottles and pacifiers.

She's had a few tastes of food here and there (which I'm not too happy about), but she hasn't officially started solids yet.

She still likes being worn in the ring sling. She doesn't mind riding in the stroller when we're out, but a lot of the time it's just easier to wear her.

She's pretty shy with people she doesn't know well. She usually starts pouting if someone looks at her and starts talking to her. And fusses if someone else holds her.

We all have our own little nicknames for her. Kaylee calls her Skyler the Smiler, Brynna calls her Sylah, I call her Monkey, and my mom calls her The Sky-meister, lol!

She's a very vocal baby. She's always cooing, babbling, squealing, screeching, and yelling.

She is starting to get really interested in the dogs now. Aries adores her, but Sasha doesn't know what to make of her and tries to avoid her, lol.

She loves her big sisters so much, and they feel the same way about her. :) Sometimes I wonder if ahe is going to grow up thinking she's royalty, with the way her sisters are always doting on her and fighting over her, hah!

She loves the sounds of kids playing, music, or white noise. She really doesn't like the quiet.

She is super ticklish. She starts laughing when you just act like you're going to tickle her. I guess she gets that from me, lol.

5 Months

At her check up a couple weeks ago, she weighed 17 pounds.

She got 4 booster shots, which made her very cranky for a couple days. She was ok as long as she was being held though, so it wasn't nearly as bad as her last round of vaccines.

She is still teething on and off, but no teeth have popped through yet.

She is grabbing everything. She is so curious.

She is sitting up by herself but will still fall over sideways after a bit.

She can scoot on her belly, and has actually gotten into the crawling position and done the rock back and forth thing. Something tells me she's going to be a very strong and determined little kid!

We started solid foods this month. She has had sweet potatoes, squash, banana, and teething biscuits. She seems to love everything she tries.

She is still nursing, and still refuses a bottle and pacifier. I've pretty much given up on them at this point. I figure she will go straight to a sippy cup.

She generally goes to bed around 8. For a while there, her sleeping was pretty erratic, but lately she's been sleeping through the night!! She is still napping 2 or 3 times a day. I try to get her to skip that third nap or she'll be up until 10.

She still isn't a fan of new people, but can be persuaded with baby talk, lol.

She is starting to get a little bit of an attitude. If you take something away, or you walk past her when she wants to be picked up, or something like that, she will do this angry squeal. It's pretty funny and adorable. (At this age anyway, lol!)

Can't wait to keep watching this sweet baby grow up! I just wish she would slow down a bit!!!
